Do not use this company!! The service techs walked in and immediately tried to upsell me by twice the price. After spending 40 minutes, they claimed they were done. I told them that $300 was a lot of money for 40 minutes of work. They went over a couple of areas. My carpet is not clean and I paid a lot of money for it. Pathetic job.

We offer a large variety of premium products and services which our technicians can recommend while in your home to achieve the best results, but these are always 100% optional, no matter which options you go with our crews will always try their best for you. In therms of how long the service takes, we send 2 experienced technicians to every home with the goal to have each service done as efficiently as possible so we don't take too much time out of our clients' days while still delivering high quality of service.
That said, all our services are backed with our Written Guarantee which entitles you to a second visit free of charge within 14 days of your service date to go over any areas you are not fully satisfied with. I'd leave less than 1 star, if possible. It's very sad that super value has purchased a long-standing respected duct cleaning company in Winnipeg and is in the process of destroying their good name.
Like the other reviews I've seen, we were quoted $299 plus $99 for dryer vent cleaning but final bill was $783.89 to include 2 additional main ducts and 8 "sealed" joists. These were all cleaned as cold air returns by Air-o-vac. Exactly how a 70 year old house grows new main ducts seems incredulous. My husband said the upselling started the moment they arrived.
I called and spoke to Rodo, the manager, who told me the technician had my husband's signed agreement for the extra work and the only thing he'd offer was a discount on future services as the "price" has already been heavily discounted.
I questioned the "price" as they could put any number on the invoice. Rodo said all their prices are on the website but I couldn't find them anywhere.
I, also, object to the technicians not wearing masks or offering to wear them. YES, I could've requested but instead opted to leave while they were here.
When I mentioned this to Rodo, he said the current mask mandate has ended and it's a personal choice. I beg to differ. That is true in public spaces but this is a private home. I consider it very disrespectful.

Good Afternoon Mrs. Martin,
Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback on the experience you had with our company when we did your Duct Cleaning on April 2, 2022 and for your time on the phone.
It is true that Air O Vac was purchased by new owners as of the summer of 2021; Air O Vac’s previous owners were retiring from the industry and were looking for another brand that would uphold their values. We take it as a great privilege to be able to have done so.
All records previous to the new ownership were in paper form. We entered in the information to the best of our abilities into our database, but the previous work orders were vague in details. That is why when we schedule in appointments we schedule for Standard Residential Packages. For Duct Cleaning, this means that the Standard Package includes 2 Main Ducts and up to 15 vents. Any additional components that a system may have are assessed on site. Our Technicians always do walk throughs to determine if the system is within the Standard Package or if there are additional components. If there are additional components, we check to see if they require cleaning, and if they do, we make the recommendation to have them cleaned. At that point, the client can decline or approve to have the work done. For this instance, it was determined that the system had 2 additional main ducts and 8 sealed joists that were available to clean. The client approved and signed the work order to this effect. Our pricing is standard for all residential homes and everything is documented in writing to ensure a smooth and happy experience. We only do additional work if the work is approved. If there are concerns with pricing, it must be established prior to the cleaning and authorization being done. If it is not in the budget for a client or they decline the work, the additional components are not done and we do the rest of the system. The previous Owners also did not have an HVAC Division; meaning they had no licensed HVAC Technicians on staff, however, this client’s previous work orders with Air O Vac said that they had their Furnace serviced and Air Conditioning Coil done. We have an entire HVAC Division and can tell you unequivocally that the prices you paid previously were half of what the industry charges and the work was done by Duct Technicians, not HVAC Technicians that have gone to school and have the credentials and experience to be working on that equipment. We pride ourselves on doing the job right and having the correct Technicians doing the work. When we make mistakes, we take accountability and always endeavor to make it right as quickly as possible.
We are truly sorry that the experience did not go as you had hoped and we understand that the information could have been communicated better to you, given your previous interactions with Air O Vac. We also understand your discomfort with our Technicians not asking if you would like them to wear a mask or not. Although the provincial mask mandate has ended, we always want to respect of all of our clients’ comfort levels. We have marked on your file for future servicing that you would like to be asked up front about masks, so we can avoid this situation in the future. We have also applied a $150.00 credit on your file with us. Our credits never expire and can be applied towards all of services. We hope for the opportunity to earn your business back and change your perspective on our company.

I had these guys come to my home several years ago. It was a complete disaster!! I wanted my whole home done as a treat as I had always done this myself. Anyway, I had them do the upstairs which was fine and then I asked them to do the downstairs rec room area. They had their machine at the top of my stairs. Well guess what? The machine fell down my 10 stairs! They ripped up all my stair nosing as the heavy machine fell down the stairs also all the dirty water splashed up on my walls, then it hits the floor, ripped up my linoleum flooring, and put a hole in my wall. When I called the office I spoke to the owner he was rude. He actually expected me to pay for the carpet cleaning! He asked me up until the machine fell down my stairs if I was satisfied with what they did. The upstairs was fine but they ruined the downstairs. This guy actually wanted me to pay! I told him who was going to reimburse me for all the laundry I had to do because when the machine fell so did all the dirty water all over my walls and basement floor and carpet. Also who was going to reimburse me for my laundry detergent and my time? I was trying to be nice, why I don't know! He sent out someone to fix the damages but it was never quite the same. I could not find any replacement for my stair nosing as its larger than what you get now so the stair nosing in my home was nicked and dinged up. Next time I'll go through insurance. Also, he told me that it wasn't like a restaurant where you get a free meal whatever that was supposed to have meant. I stood firm and did not pay for my services. But I definitely should have gone through my home insurance I did not know any better at the time and I will never ever ever use these guys again. Just a total nightmare. And they would not stop calling my home after! They still wanted me to use them. How desperate can you be?

I am so upset this company needs to purchase new equipment it was falling apart as they were interning my home he guaranteed me it did a great job even though it looked bad, everything was dirty I mean dirty I told them right then that I think I'm going to pass but I let him talk me into doing it what a mistake that was. First off I had a area of 3 by 3 feet of rain water that got in after the heavy rain that I needed removed and I had an area of about 70 feet I had cleaned as well when they were done the whole area that was done was all saturated with water and he had the nerve to tell me that's the best the machine would do, I phoned the company they told me that's what happens when you get your carpets clean but he would send them back to get the water out or what they can, but I must pay them first so when they came back they said 20 minutes and if the water was still there after that 20 minutes I would have to pay more money for more time I told them to leave and before they got a penny from me I'd see them in court. Now I have to rent a shop vac from Home Depot to suck the water out. Sooooooo upset

I am sorry if you felt as if the equipment used in your home was not adequate for the Carpet Cleaning service you had booked with our company, I can guarantee you that's not the case, all of our equipment is cleaned and maintained on a regular basis to ensure that we are delivering the high-quality services we pride ourselves in.
I understand you had booked in a Standard Steam cleaning service which is priced based on how many areas we are cleaning in the home, when our technicians arrived on site and were made aware of the rainwater which had entered your home they were able to perform some Water Extraction in addition to the Steam Cleaning service at no additional charge. Our Water Extraction service is typically charged by time, which is why our technicians had mentioned that any additional time would come with additional cost.
Steam Cleaning is done through Hot Water Extraction which means that the carpets are flushed with hot water and soap to extract dirt and debris, we try to extract as much water as possible, but naturally, the carpets will be left a bit damp/wet to the touch as we are not able to extract 100% of the water. This is totally normal, typically speaking you are looking at about 24 hours for carpets to be fully dried, drying time of course can vary depending on the temperature, air flow, and humidity in the home.
Once again, I am sorry if you did not have a good experience with our company, I urge you to please contact our office and ask to speak to one of our Supervisors or Managers to further discuss this and we will do what we can to help.

I had Super Value Carpet Cleaners come today. Before they started, they claimed my carpet was quite dirty and needed an extra scrub for an additional $99, as well as stain areas needed extra stain removal for an extra $79. I refused and said all I wanted was the carpet steam cleaned. While they set up I went on my computer upstairs. Within 10 minutes I heard them already by the back of the condo almost finished. That was 12 stairs and about 500 sq. ft of carpet. I went downstairs and sure enough he was almost done. I had to ask them to go over a couple of spots that were needing it, which of course they would not have had I not been there. They told me that they had already done two other homes before coming to my place which was at 10;00 a.m., which included driving time. My carpet has dried and looks quite clean because I had asked them to go over the higher walking area spots. It is obvious that these cleaners have to be watched in order to get them to clean your carpet properly. Diane Magel

I am glad to hear that you were happy with the end results, but I sorry that you felt like you had to be vigilant of the technicians to ensure that was the case.
