Avaliação de 5 estrelas de Trish: THIS little gem!! Super convenient on the lowest level of the Magnolia Building and adjacent to the Daisy Cafe. I shimmied into the back corner with my main Bellingham babe, Jennifer J, to talk about work shenanigans and get caffeinated. As I waited in line for my drink, the man in front of me purchased the most delicious looking cinnamon bun - sort of resembled a pop over actually but I was VERY temped to get one too. He said they were delicious and that he got them regularly. I passed, as I know myself and would get one EVERY TIME I WAS IN TOWN if it was as good as he said. Anyone care to take those calories for the team and tell me if it's true? The coffee itself was fantastic, and the service great too. It's a tiny joint - that serves mostly the building's offices etc. but swing in sometime, I think you'll like it if you sit inside the coffee shops space - and if you eat the pastry I want a full report. -
Avaliação de 5 estrelas de Trish: Stopped in to get my watch battery replaces this AM. It was a quick fix in under 10 minutes and super nice staff onsite. The owner told us how they have been around for over 20 years and they remember when the 56 wasn't even there yet (the western end from I-5 to Carmel Creek Road was completed in 1995) and they politely asked how we liked the store and genuinely thanked us for coming in. I have to say, my 15$ watch replacement battery was a small tab as far as jewelry stores goes, but they treated us better in that 10 minute interaction than other places where we've spent much more. When we walked in we were greeted and helped immediately, with a smile, and felt that our small transaction was just as important to them as other people in the store. Really friendly and neighborly! I liked that! They've got a nice selection of rings and gifts, many I noticed were quite reasonable. I'd encourage anyone shopping for something special, or simply in need of a quick watch fix like I was, to stop into this long established family -owned store. -
Avaliação de 5 estrelas de Trish: This is the coolest thing that happened to Oceanside in the last year - and that's saying a lot because the city is bubbling with new ventures and local love. (clap clap Oceanside!! Loving it). I've hung out at Bagby a couple times and in a different section each time - this place as all kinds of room options and areas. I really like the upstairs bar and the outside patio the best. How bout some food with your brews? Tis the North County way. I can't get down on some pints without a base of noms. They make almost everything from scratch in their kitchen. Me likey the Pork Belly Poutine, the Gingo tacos, the crispy brussel and Belgian fries. Honorable mention for the smoked corn! The fried PB & J is on my short list for desserts to try soon! Next visit!! Customer service has always been friendly and on point, they note a commitment to hospitality on their website and that can really be felt throughout. One of the top places I recommend to people! -
Avaliação de 5 estrelas de Trish: After a stressful and physically taxing few weeks I needed to treat myself to a hour or so of "me" time. I hunted for a spa or massage therapist near my stylists office (as I had an appointment later in the evening) and the adorable little house RIGHT next door to where I get my hair cut turned out to be a haven. Dora, the massage therapist, is a unique and lovely soul - she hails from Hawaii and brings all the Island aloha friendliness along with her. I waited near the bubbling fountains outside the little cabin where she houses her business. It was a delightful start to wait surrounded by nature. Leave it to Dora to have a garden island in the middle of Encinitas! I schedule the "sweet treat" package which was an hour massage with a facial. The massage was one of the best I've ever had. Many people are not aware, but I've had extensive surgeries due to an accident years ago and have over two lbs. of metal in my body. After working hard on event set ups and tear downs and being on my feet a ton lately, a massage, some heat therapy and a caring therapist is soooo needed to set me right. This was a perfect 90 minutes! Dora works deep tissue and listens to your body, but she'll walk on you too if that's okay - truly! I've never had a Thai sort of styled massage before and while it was 90% deep tissue and relaxation massage, Dora using all her limbs felt amazing too! The facial was lovely - and I just have to say the atmosphere was really clean, warm and nurturing. Dora has the perfect amount of positive spirituality and genuine care to really connect with her clients. She made me feel calm and more centered after a lot of recent ups and downs. She's quite popular (well deserved) and it pretty booked up but if you can get in to see her I highly suggest it. Just not a couple days after one of my events, because... dibs. -
Avaliação de 5 estrelas de Trish: I join Fit several months ago and frequent both this Carmel Mountain location and Solana Beach. It's a large facility, with a layout that I prefer at gyms. Weights and group fitness rooms downstairs, with a great stretching area and cardio upstairs. They are huge fans, complimentary towels and friendly staff. It is a pricey membership, but the facility is well worth it with the amazing pool area, tennis courts and quality classes onsite. Those classes and their instructor's are the stand out for me, I'm not much for group fitness, but with these teachers, I'm game! The woman's locker room has plenty of amenities including a sauna which I really enjoy. The showers are stocked with fresh towels, shampoo, conditioner and lotion. There is healthy food and drinks onsite, plus protein and snacks - all for purchase right near the front. on the weekends there is often events by the pool, and sometimes hotdogs and beer if you're lucky! This is basically all the athletic perks of a nice country club - I love it. -
Avaliação de 4 estrelas de Trish: I was up in Bellingham doing some training and needed something protein packed for a long day ahead - This location is inside the complex where the new Whole Foods is going to be. I wish them serious luck to stay put, even though WF usually has a smoothie bar of its own. I consider Emerald City's product to be superior and more of a true health/work out/gym rat menu. It's a franchises with 40+ stores, I know, but I love the Just Peachy and the Nutty Banana ones. I also love how, on their website, you can choose a wellness goal and it will match the smoothie with that goal. This is a regular stop for me when I'm around, and I might even fight the parking lot craziness that is sure to ensue just to frequent them! -
Avaliação de 4 estrelas de Trish: It's been a long long looooooong time since I've been in a dance store or bought any dance wear - but there is something about it that makes me truly happy, the only way dance can. I needed ballroom shoes for a charity competition I'm a part of. (Wanna see me dance and (probably) not fall on my face? April 2nd, California Center For The Arts) and after some research online I decided I should buy them in person and try them on. Not only was the staff helpful on the phone but in person they were knowledgable and informed. I needed a shoe for both a jive/swing number AND a ballroom styled folklorico and was hoping to manage with just one pair for both performances. They suggested what they thought would work, and even offered to have a different color brought to this location if I preferred. The first time I went in was research mostly - and I didn't buy. A few days later after talking to my dance partner about our costume, shoes, etc I went back to get the pair they had first recommended to me. Dance shoes are expensive!! Like 100$ a pair. I knew this going in, and although I could have maybe gotten them 10 or 20 dollars cheaper on Amazon, I bought them from this local business instead. Without them I never would have know what to get. There's mostly ballet/jazz/basic classroom type gear onsite. Lots of tutus, not a ton of adult wear, pricey, but a solid shop for the arts with people who know what they are talking about. New (or returning) dancers - go here! -
Avaliação de 5 estrelas de Trish: I love this little coffee and shopping spot in Mission Hills. What a gem! I parked it here for a couple hours to work with the oh so famous Brad B. We have so much up our sleeves for 2016 and needed some serious caffeine to prompt our party planning powers into full gear. They pumped us full of delicious coffee and we sat outside along the sidewalk. Multiple puppies passed us, it was a good day! Indoors you'll find lovely things in the shop portion of the store, from Jonathan Adler items to local gems, I could have bought one of everything and particularly liked the pendant jewelry they had at the counter - circular gold pieces with astrological signs imprinted on them. Little matchbooks, clever bar tools, it's all there so if you have a need for a gift and want to grab a coffee and pastry as well, here is your one stop neighborhood shop. Street parking, wasn't bad on a weekday afternoon. -
Avaliação de 5 estrelas de Trish: THE AVOCADO TOAST. THE AVOCADO TOAST!!!! Yeah, I doubled capped and exclaimed multiple times. It's delicious in its simplicity and a flavor profile that is one of my personal favs. The coffee is uber legit too - If cafes had levels of coffee excellence this would be a top tier. It's a cozy joint in the Financial District with tables that people don't mind sharing. I went there twice in one day within like 3 hours - and I'll go again next time I'm in town for work. Never take the avo toasts away. That is all. -

You've got a thing for Craft Brews just like I do, we both love brunch... I mean, we should be together - it just makes sense. On a rare Sunday when my main squeeze felt like switching it up from our normal football watching haunt in NoCo, we decided to swipe right and give you a chance. I was smitten. Ali, our server, presented you with a great first impression. Super friendly and helpful, and best of all - didn't rush us. When a sports bar rushes tables, I don't consider them a real sports bar. If I'm here at 1:20 to catch a 1:25 game, have a few drinks, a bite or two... yeah, I'm gonna use this table for over two hours - don't act surprised or annoyed. Thankfully BP, you guys get it, and we felt comfy and welcome. We did make a reservation on the Yelps which I suggest. We let them know we wanted to watch they game - although I feel like there is a TV in view of most spots. They also do the AWESOME thing where they print and post what games will be where and put the signs next to the TVS. Super helpful so Seattle birds of the electric green feathers can flock together. Groups of 4 and 6 is a good size for this place - it's cozy so don't try and roll in with a 10 top. So, service = check! Ambiance = check! Food? YUM. The house made chips are bomb, we loved the Carne Breakfast Burrito with the hash browns on the side. We also thought the fact that you could add meat and wrap up any salad - a great menu option move in general. I like to get my grub on as much as the next sports enthusiast, but its such a solid to have healthier options on the menu. Drinks? Two words. Adult Lemonade. and of course, a ton of local beers. Insider tip - there is also a bottle shop for kids in the hood who just wanna grab and get back to their living rooms. Also gotta say, their Business Owner Yelp game is on point. Hilarious check in offer, delivery set up, reservations available on the app, menu links, images etc - They really took the time to set up their page correctly. All that info, pictures and data combined with 4.5 stars and a great IRL experience = WIN -
Avaliação de 5 estrelas de Trish: Of all the places we visited to eat while on vacation in Ireland-this was the most interesting and exciting. It's a pub, but a total local's joint and a secret foodie paradise. My hotel desk clerk had no idea what I was talking about. They have this amazing menu that is more like an American Gastropub would have then your average bar menu. It was an actually grocery back in the day-and I'm please to report it's back in a fashion: They set up a grocery section, open each Friday & Saturday from 12.30pm selling craft beer to take away in refillable growler flasks, beer hampers, retro sweets, Arun Bakery Stoneybatter sourdough & Vlaa baps, Irish farmhouse cheeses, Wall & Keogh tea by the gram, 3FE Coffee beans, Dublin Kombucha, cupcake mixes & jars of bacon jam. YES PLEASE on all of that if I lived in town!! We made an early reservation at 5pm and had no problem, but anything later than that is tough to get in if you don't plan in advance. It's one of Dublin's hottest craft beer bars-a scene that's just been heating up in the area for about two years. Being from San Diego I was thrilled to see this industry taking off-the range of options is getting bigger and bigger-and this place pours cask beers, has limited edition brews and a range of options you won't find anywhere else. It all compliments the vibe there-and the food of course! The menu for food is bound within old books, so page through, I almost missed a whole section. I had my heart set on the Scotch Egg to begin, but as we were so early they were still in prep-so I went for the Black pudding, my first ever. "Sir" Jack McCarthy's Black Pudding, Beetroot Puree, Apple & Red Onion Boxty, Lovely Plums with Fivemiletown Goats Cheese. The server said it'd be the best I'd ever have-and I did enjoy it immensely. Maybe I'm ruined for all other puddings now, and they swear it's the best in Dublin. I had the Free Range Chicken Kiev made with Inishowen Whiskey Butter and Hazelnut Crumb served with Twice Cooked Chips, Red Cabbage & Warm Smoked Bacon Slaw with Corn Puree as my main course, and ate it completely. I also stole the pot of smokey au jus from my BF's 9 oz Kettyle Extra Mature Rib Eye Steak and poured it all over my chips (thick cut fries from you 'Mericans!) We passed on dessert-but I had a whiskey and apple juice drink that was to die for. It's a must when you're in Dublin, off the tourists path. -
Avaliação de 4 estrelas de Trish: What a great inland spot! I called a made a reservations-which I do suggest because even on a Wednesday, the place was packed by 6:30 pm. The boyfriend and I were meeting the bestie and her man for an after Christmas gift exchange and a long over due double date night. We got there a few minutes early and our table was ready and we were promptly both greeted and seated. Our server came to introduce himself and it was slow at the time (5:20ish) and still happy hour! Woot Woot (Till 6 pm). We spent several minute pursuing the menu and he explained a few items to us. A text came through letting us know our pals would be a few minutes late so we decided to order some cheese and wine while we wait-the only possible solution of course! i had the petit Syrah that was on happy hour (yum!) and we went for three cheeses (two goat, one aged cheddar) served with toasted bread, dried cherries and apricot jam. Once our friends arrived we got down to business. The table ordered the following. The Whiskey Burger. 15$ The BF is watching what he eats so requested a salad instead of the Yukon gold 'pommes soufflés' that normally come as a side to this dish... and the server said he couldn't accommodate substitutions. We thought about getting them on the side but really didn't want the temptation. He offered some pickled veggies instead-we said fine. They were just alright. Although overall the burger was delicious, unless you're going for those taters, not worth it. I think it'd be nice if they offered another side option for the healthy eaters. The Salmon w/ Mussels & Saffron Broth served with sunflower root, brussels sprouts, leeks, herbs. 23$ A nice piece of Salmon and about a half dozen mussels-the veggies noted were few and far between but the bestie loved the flavors and gobbled it up. A win! Niman Ranch Berkshire Pork Chop with mango chutney and a tiny amount of fingerling potatoes 23$ Again, the accouterment to the dish was almost just garnish in the amount they allocated-just a few of those wittle potatoes that they made sound so good hit the dish-but the flavor here was obsessed about by the besties hubster. He was all in, AND ate it all up. Wouldn't even taste anyone else's food because he "didn't want to ruin the flavors." Def get this if you're a carnivore. I had the Brussel Sprouts which came to the table in a small plateful- I thought again: What small portions! But they were delicious and the bacon was plump bitefuls. Worth it. I also had a trio of salads that came on a board (about 1 cup of each for around 15$) Grilled Artichoke Hearts w/ Ricotta Salata, red onion and mint was my favorite, followed by the golden beets and goat cheese. My third option, the Oven-Roasted Mussels w/ Fingerling Potatoes, celery, red onion, smoked paprika and herbs, was actually the front runner when I ordered, but ended up taking third place overall. We resisted dessert because of our early cheese plate indulgence, but our table-mates snagged the Nutella Brownie with Espresso Gelato and loved it! Four stars-minus a few on value for the dollar/portion sizes and because as the night continued our waiter got busier and causing us to have to flag him down a few times for service. Kudos to the busier for keeping our water glasses full all night -
Avaliação de 5 estrelas de Trish: Stop it Bakersfield: Every-time I come to town I find a new obsession (and this time, its not gravy) Moo creamery is a hidden gem as far as geography goes, but I'm pretty sure most locals have figured it out! I headed in on my lonesome for a quick bite and, shall we call it ice cream research? known for their sweet treats of course, and also the serious burgers. While everyone around me totally stuck to those to specials, I opted for the house-made chili and cornbread. It was the perfect amount of spice and truly delicious. The decor inside is one part malt shop, one part burger joints and two hefty doses of Bakersfield cowboy chic. You can saddle up to the bar as a lone diner like I did, or be seated at a table inside or out. they've got ice cream flavors for days (Mexican Chocolate! Bacon Love!) and hard ice cream shakes- the traditional kind with all the goodness! Stop in for the full meal deal, and definitely don't forget dessert. One note on the location, it is deep in an industrial park, if your wondering if you're still going the right way, follow the signs and keep going: Deliciousness awaits you. -
Avaliação de 4 estrelas de Trish: So I hang out in Bakersfield lately. Don't boo. It's pretty awesome. And one of the most awesome parts is this here hotel. It's western chic, and a city girl like me sinks into their amazing beds with glee! If you're coming to town, this is where you should hang your hat! The service in the bars and restaurants onsite is hit or miss, but the food is great. The rooms are modern and comfy, with all the amenities you could need and again, the beds, OMG! The cheeky cowboy humor really cracks me up too. It's all the fun of the wild west, with an almost burlesque like touch. I've also had the pleasure of renting out the upstairs conference room. It was just me and the notable Miss Mckenzie S, but we had enough room where we could have taken our meetings on roller skates around the giant conference table. All my interactions with reservations and other onsite needs have been polite and top notch. Valet can be a bit slow, but the guys are super nice and helpful too. The price is what really makes me happy: I usually snag one of these lovely rooms for around 150 a night (I stay during the week mostly) and honestly, when I head into town, I'm so delighted to know where I'm going to rest my head. Bakersfield is lucky to have this awesome property. If you're in town, this is the right choice. -

I've had them featured at Yelp Events but haven't had the chance to go personally as an everyday customer. First of all: I know they're VERY popular so I had called ahead and ordered 6 gigantic subs for my super bowl peeps (They're aptly named and huge: Could feed two or three people at least) and spoken to one of the employees who was super professional and repeated my order back, etc. I mentioned to him that I was bringing them to a party and he suggested the Mayo/Must/Sauces be put on the side so nothing got soggy. So perfect. Momma Bear runs the counter here and she's the sweetest thing ever. I arrived early to pick up my order so she offered me a beverage and some chips to snack on while I waited. It was super sweet. My pal and I joked with the staff and everyone was super friendly. The place was clean and you can see everything they're cooking with out in the open-Fresh Fresh Fresh! My subs were hard core delicious, and totally crowd pleasers. I cut them up myself and arranged them but they do party platters too! I suggest this for lunch, dinner, whenever you need a sammy get it!! If you're not from the area, well, drive damnit. Worth it. -
Avaliação de 5 estrelas de Trish: Hunting around for good breakfast places in downtown/Belltown Seattle we found this gem. Although you definitely need reservations, if you're lucky like we were, you can snag a spot at the bar and order from the charming gentleman who runs that section. Donuts for everyone! DO IT. They're lovely and generous, enough for two or one, if you're feeling feisty (I was) They come delivered in an adorable brown bag then dumped onto your plate warm and coated with cinnamon and sugar. The raspberry house made jam and vanilla mascarpone? Heaven! We all had coffee and fresh juices to drink. My breakfast was a-ok. I kept it simple with eggs (cause of the donuts, good lord) but the BF house made pork sausage with his order and raved about it. I stole a bite, then raved too. I also snagged a taste of the smashed potatoes: Yum-o! (thats a technical term) I'm dying to go again next time I'm in town. I really want to try the Eggs Benedict with the bavarian meats ham, dill hollandaise with more of those smashed garlic fried potatoes This is a Tom Douglas restaurant (James Beard award winner) and I say, well deserved. -
Avaliação de 5 estrelas de Trish: I dragged myself plus suitcase into this locals coffee corner with the lovely and hospitable Bryant for a final work together sesh before headed home to the West. It was a chilly day, the first of many to come I suppose, with some snow flurries in the air. If I was a Columbus lady, I think this would be a working haunt for me. In the hour or so that we sat at the communal table I was comfy and caffeinated-this is the midwest version of my Leucadia Californian Cafe Ipe-with roasted beans here and there and strong shots being pulled. I had just a drip coffee-and it was fantastic. In the summer there is a cold brew cart that is downright adorable-however as the freeze sets in, it stands abandoned in the corner. They press, they cleaver, they siphon, they brew-stop in, they'll do you a solid and get your blood moving in the cold-it worked for me. I woke up to palm trees the next day even- a little sadly though, with no Mission Coffee to be had. -
Avaliação de 5 estrelas de Trish: Th Grand Tasting is my favorite party of year (that I don't plan of course) and I love seeing what the cream of the chef crop in SD is up too. Tickets are pricey, but tastings are generous and it's worth it. The drinks you're offered alone would cost that much anyways. Plus all the foods and kick back coupons and what not: Save your foodie festival monies and spend it all on this one! This year it was spread out and larger than ever before- a bit more crowded too, but not too bad. Some of my favorite partners and peeps were there, plus I tried a few things I hadn't tasting before. My hands down favorite was the wonton tuna taco from Bang Bang-excellent job guys! Another great thing about this event is trying new cocktails and liq ours. Pace yourself people-you'll be yelling about how you feel like you're at the "Catalina Wine Mixer" in no time. Go, I tell ya, go. -
Avaliação de 5 estrelas de Trish: If you're on the go like me, laptop and i-pad in hand- making the interwebs turn, working from whatever perch you can find with an electrical outlet and wifi sometimes you long for some co-worker companionship-or just a stationary spot to call your own. Some Yelpy peeps and I were in need of some steady space to work together for a day or two and I hunted around local co-working spaces for a conference room with some character-I stumbled across Union, a new industrially inspired space of offices and co-working rooms with a fun local staff! They were the most reasonably priced for a conference room for the day that I found and located in North Park next door to Calabria. They're still working out a few kinks but we were comfortable and sequestered to a quiet corner room to discuss needed details. They're still working on the "backyard" and making improvements but this is a solid choice for somewhere to rest your weary remote-worker lap top bag. -
Avaliação de 5 estrelas de Trish: Stop it Pine State, just stop it. Cuz I can't, I just couldn't stop. I ate, then I ate some more. I drank.. and then kept drinking. I just couldn't get enough of the pure goodness coming out of this joint! And speaking of pure goodness, a round of applause for the chef and the staff! Delightful and adorable and just amazing. I had a biscuit smothered in sausage gravy-there was a little kick to it, and that biscuit? As cozy and delicious as a feather bed on a cold Portland day. Calories? Don't care. I ate it all, ALL, in full lumberjack mode. Pausing for no man and sharing with no man either. When it comes to sausage gravy, I'm pretty selfish. #thatswhatshesaid I also had a corn dog, YUP! In a delicious corn bread crust and loved it. The table with my fellow Yelp pals was swimming with gravy covered fries, loaded with glorious biscuit sandwiches and more. I picked through their meals too- and every bite was a shining star. The pictures are pure food porn, and it tastes as good as it looks. This place is a Portland must-believe the hype. Go and eat all the things and never stop. I sure won't. -
Avaliação de 5 estrelas de Trish: You'll never find a more welcoming and magical place on the Great Atlantic Way. What an amazing place, so full of heart and genuine people. This review is late, but I have to be honest that Its been hard to write- I'm sentimental about my amazing experience with Gallan Mor and The Bourkes (owners)- and I want to give them all the praise I possibly can. I painstakingly researched where we would like to stay, combing through online reviews and images and taking my time to determine the perfect location. When I came across Gallan Mor it was like love at first sight- A wave on confidence washed over me and I felt really calm about booking. The emails between me and the owners were so pleasant and understanding-even when I ended up having to move dates around. By the time we were headed towards their lovely home, I felt like I already knew them a little. Lorna, the hostess with the mostess, provided coordinates to reach them, a good idea in Ireland and a common practice for B & Bs there. After a few days on different parts of the Island we arrived: It was perfect. See all my pictures for the visuals or their stunning, just-like-home instagram (https://instagram.com/gallanmor/). As we parked we were invited to the porch for tea and a snack while we took in the incredible views. We were given the North Room and it was perfect with an en suite bathroom. Roomy enough and decorated in a fresh but cozy fashion. The four poster bed was quite comfortable with plenty of luxe linens with a set up for morning tea already in the room. Lorna mentioned there's nothing better than lounging in bed with a hot cup first thing in the AM. I couldn't have agreed more! The dining room is truly a crowning piece in the home, it's set with just enough tables and adorable wares, behind you is a quaint red fireplace, a few couches and books. We were blessed with abnormally perfect weather (It did not rain once in all our travels on the whole island in our 12 day trip) but if it HAD rained, I would have promptly curled up there and been as content as can be. The Bourkes asked us what our dinner plans were and as we had none, they hooked us up with a reservation down the road. You may feel, out in West Cork, as though there may not be anything for miles- not so! Pubs and excellent small restaurants are just down the road... and further down, the amazing hikes and cliffs full of lavender and views that will make you catch your breath. The small town of Bantry is also nearby, ask me about the Famer's Market, I almost bought a pony and some live chickens just in case. The next day we had the breakfast they're famous for served in the sunny dining room and lets just take a moment of silence for Lorna's home-made preserves..... I WANT TO MOVE IN. Her daughters are very lucky to have such a cook for a mother, I'd be 100 more pounds if I lived there spreading butter and jams over fresh baked goods every morning. I was lucky enough to get that experience a few times during our stay and the tastes and smells are still with me- craving from thousands of miles away! Our hosts gave us all the local advise and helped us create some of the best memories of our trip entirely. When I return to Ireland someday I'll be excited to try new things... but I absolutely MUST stay here again, and you must too. For those who enjoy my storytelling... read on for a long winded lunch regale. When a new restaurant opens in the Gaslamp I never rush out to try it. Which is maybe too bad... the tourist type vibes this hood puts out usually makes me run for other burrows as fast as my heels can carry me. Admittedly, before this experience I didn't know anything about this brand other than hearing that they had snagged the old Palm's location (Roosterfish? no? Okay.) but the clouds parted, I heard music... the downtown siren called: That downtown siren? No not Brad B, although he reels 'em in just fine, but Omar S of course. This lovely gentleman invited me out to lunch in thanks for a milestone compliment I had sent him and I wholeheartedly agreed. We talked about meeting at a nearby french bakery but he scoffed that dessert wasn't lunch (I politely disagree: try it sometime!) and suggested this very new and exciting opening. He even made the reservation. A dining partner that both picked the place and follows proper protocols? How nice for a planner like me to be able to simply attend a meal for once! Maybe I should come downtown more often! When I arrived I was able to grab the tails end (see what I did there) of a tour the hostess was taking Mr O on. We were wowed by the wall of oyster shells, a tank of live lobsters, fresh fish selections and even had a moment to meet the chef and hear his recommendations for the day. The decor is wood and glass and very upscale fish house indeed. Mr. O likes to eat like I like to eat. Neither getting the same thing and sharing as we go. We're not talking a Heliogabalus level feast here: but course by course in a casual way we did. Starting with a selection of oysters from the raw oyster bar, from a swing of the sea to a meaty briny bite: I was delighted with all the choices and we talked of many things: "Of shoes and ships and sealing wax, of cabbages and kings... and why the sea is boiling hot and whether pigs have wings." Next we ordered main dishes. I picked out our wines by the glass and at the chef's recommendation I ordered the Wild Ross Sea Chilean Seabass, a really perfect piece of fish, served sautéed in brown butter with half a dozen herbed ricotta gnudi on the plate as well. Mr. O also followed the Chef's suggestions and went with the Wild Alaskan Black Cod. the menu description made me think it'd be too sweet but it arrived with the perfect level of flavor from the szechuan sauce, served with surprisingly solid pairing of glazed yams. (again, I thought it'd all be too sweet, but nope!) Also a pork belly that seemed on the leaner side and a red miso sauce. If there must be a champion, we voted that my dish was the winner, but both were quite nice. Dessert? Um yes. We shared a french press and ordered both the caramel bread pudding with red sea salt (Omar's choice) and the maple cheesecake with sour cream ice cream (picked by "fickle" me, I wavered back and forth on options). While I may have won the entree, Mr. O reigns supreme over dessert. The bread pudding was truly lovely and the flavors didn't over power one another. It was probably the lightest (for all its denseness) bread pudding I've had - and we think its because they use croissants in it and the custard was excellent. Maple cheesecake didn't disappoint either and our server mentioned it was the Chef's fav. (Shout out to Randy for trying to answer all our questions and his indulgence with our meal photos) Side notes: I wasn't a big fan of the table bread they served actually - a small thing, but I think for fish and steak places who use all the butters and wines and sauces, it's an important one. I found it dry and suggest a softer, warmer or more rustic bread option. The servers go through quite a bite of training at this location and are still a bit nervous when talking serious deets: But so much effort was appreciated. This location will be quite loud when full on a Friday night too. Expect a boisterous atmosphere. 4 stars, can't wait to go again! I'll be giving this kudos and recommend it to people who ask for downtown options. For Omar S: 5 stars all the way. -
Avaliação de 5 estrelas de Trish: Feeling like going camping but can do without the fuss, tent, etc... Okay lets be honest, you really just want S'mores right? Well me too and Halleljuah! Base Camp delivers! The taproom has bites, brews and they even give you a sky full of stars (look up!) plus the outdoor area has all the picnic table vibes you could ask for. It's an urban answer to the camping question. Don't bother packing the car, bring your green instead of sleep out in it - and pay for your drinks and this delightful experience. I really encourage you to read the thoughtfulness they've put into the tap room experience on their website (http://basecampbrewingco.com/taproom/) it's full of sustainable practices, reclaimed lumber, and oh those S'mores I mentioned? They come in the form of the S'more Stout, complete with a real toasted marshmallow atop. The boys behind the brew have truly spent the time to ponder each element of the business, from the aluminum 22's that carry the product for adventures to the BC gear serious fans can purchase: It's apparent that they stayed up nights staring at the very stars they re-created to come up with all this. Now during my visit I must mention this fabled beer treat was sold out on draft! Our totally kind (and gorgeous) bartender watched out crestfallen faces and summed us up. Beer, okay awesome, but these girls really just wanted s'mores. He obliged as a total favor, and gets all the oooey gooey love from us forevermore. I drank a cider, watched delicious food from their partners get carried about and delivered by totally happy employees. It's a testament to their love for what they do - it's clear the whole situation is just bad ass. I'll visit again on my next trip North and if you're a PDX person and you haven't gone.. for shame, get your ass in gear. -

Scott-Boy pulling the drinks, cheap and surprisingly delicious bar pizzas to snack on, pull tabs, karaoke, pool and plenty of space to hang out. This is a typical Midwest bar, which is what is so special about it. The locals who go there have been going there for years - its common to find Father's and their full grown sons sharing a drink side by side, old high school sports stories being traded back and forth, everyone buying a round and chatting about the town gossip. If you're low key, tip well and are friendly, pull up a barstool. This is a joint to get comfy in and stay awhile. -
Avaliação de 5 estrelas de Trish: I love this concept and the people that work there! Thanks to Ryan C (The Yelp CM in OC) for introducing this to me during a lunch meeting a few weeks back. It's a lovely casual order at the counter cafe/bistro with French cuisine. I was touched by the thoughtfulness throughout and the commitment to quality and authenticity. They slow cook rotisserie chicken for their signature Le Poulet Frites/Pommes Rustique avec Salade (Half roasted chicken with French fries or roasted potatoes, green salad) they create delicious salsads like the one I had, La Salade Chèvre Chaud (Salad greens with warm goat cheese over home made toasted breadand) and tasty dishes like Le Croque Monsieur or Les Crepes with nutella and bananas. Attached to the main cafe room and counters is a small section of the most glorious desserts to take away or eat there. Also a small shop of imported goods, plus a hefty wine offering throughout. I bought a few chocolates for the ride home! Anytime I'm in Newport this is where I want to have lunch, okay Ryan?

Now I've throw Yelp parties onsite and been hosted a couple times but I've also discovered the amazing line up this venue is able to procure and happily buy my tickets like a normal patron to support the shows that come through and the center itself too. As for the artistic line up, this last season was incredible! Pink Martini, Two Cellos, Les Mis - I was so impressed with the large main theater and it's production capabilities and the staff of course. I have some familiar faces I run into, but everyone, known or not, is friendly and helpful. The place is sparkling clean and they've kept it in great condition. In the main big theater you'll find thunderous applause, excellent sound and it's large enough to house popular shows but feels intimate enough to have that sense of community. Frankly, I didn't know this place existed till last year and I'm so sad I've been missing out on the line up. Inland/North County friends: Why didn't you tell me sooner?! Why drive South or to LA when you have this in your backyard? I'm anxiously awaiting news on what the 2015/16 season will bring to this great property. Brides, Organizations, Party People: Talk about a venue! The options are pretty limitless and I highly suggest you check it out next time you need to book an event. Professional and eager to please, you'll be wowed with the service. -

He picked this little joint and it's hidden in the corner of the shopping center. A total gem for sure! The strip mall it's located in doesn't do it justice. We slid into a booth and ordered up the lunch beef ravioli special and a pizza, plus some waters and iced teas. It was an inland scorcher and hot inside that day. If they have an air conditioner they should turn it on an hour before the lunch rush and close the door - then it'd be a den of melty cheese and pizza and sauce. Sexy! A Inland win for sure. The lunch specials are about 10$ and the portion size is perfect. The pizzas are big enough to share - The service was local and personal. I'm a fan! -

All the http://www.ordervikingfood.com/. Eat them all. Plus the breakfast sandwiches (Eggenues) and the pastries. Around Christmas time the bakery case gets crazy with goodness and I really can't resist it. The Cinnamon Rolls are bomb, plus the scones and a coffee on a rainy PNW day? Perfection. I love the way the downtown location windows get steamy from all the hot bread and cooking inside. The Fairhaven location is cozy and great for a bite after a walk through the historical village. James Street is the largest one in town- and I suggest that's where you bring groups or family for a bite if you plan to. Rumor has it that the downtown location is expanding and that they're going to have a full kitchen and add burgers to the menu. Watch out Bobs - with the quality ingredients they sling here you could be in a burger throw down! All these Bellingham reviews make me homesick. I can't wait to be up north and in one of the Avenue Bread & Deli's again soon! -

This location has been a lifesaver for projects I've been working on and they're perfect for those moments where you need any of the following Plants and pots to put them in. Paint and brushes, screws, screwdrivers, anchor screws, stuff to fix your sink, cleaning supplies cause your sink broke, shelving, succulent food, new succulents, gifts, decor, those sticky hanging things for pictures, picture frames. You name it, they probably have it. What's more, they've got someone to help you with your problem too. I've never walked into the place without someone offering to help within 60 seconds. Neighborhood hardware store that I really would be a mess without! -

He is adorable and one of the nicest guys ever and works for the zoo. When I think of the zoo, I think of Justin. Both make me smile. Hi boo! #2:They have a Red Panda, and he looks so comfy and adorable. Sure, he is in the same exhibit with those OTHER pandas, but he is number ONE in my book. Don't know about Red Pandas? "We have reintroduced 33 species back into the wild including: mountain yellow-legged frogs, 5 species of reptiles, 17 species of birds, and 10 species of mammals. In many cases, these efforts have meant the difference between extinction and survival." Check out their work specifically on the California Condor and Giant Pandas. #4: Their work with Elephants and Rhinos - I know I mentioned the Conservation already, but these issues are so amazing and so threatened that I'm motivated with the help that comes from my ticket prices every time I go and learn more about the situation. #5 The behind the scene packages. Once year I took my nephew and we were able to feel Meerkats, hold a owl and get an amazing behind the exhibits look at everything that goes on. Even in the back ally and corners, the SD Zoo it a stellar operation. #6: The ticket packages. With places like Disney and other theme parts increasing their entry fees - you should buy a ticket that includes entrance and skytram and movies and educational experiences - and often, residents can get an annual pass for almost the price of a single entry. Don't get me wrong, Disney is amazing, but I'd rather have access to the SD Zoo and do something educational. #7: Free and plentiful parking, trams, and the Balboa area all make the location a total win. #8: The Aviaries! I love the birds and could sit inside these habitats and watch all day. Seriously sometimes I consider going alone in the middle of the day just to zen out in there. You really feel like you're in a tropical rain forest. #9: The recent additions: Koalafornia, The Tiger Trail and the Condor area are beautifully done and show off the animals with generous room and care. #10: The Red Panda. Did I mentioned that already? He had a girlfriend, but they broke up. He needs a new one if you know anybody, Five stars!! San Diego Zoo forever!!
