Wirtshaus zum Grünen Baum

So generally it was not bad. The server was nice and friendly, the Restaurant was clean too, they serve a huge variety of German food, and it came out rather fast as well. The reason why it has 3 stars is because the food itself was not authentic. It tasted like something that was defrosted. Tasteless. So that's probably why I would not go again.

Love it. This will have a special place as being our first bier fatten in Munich, and it was fabulous. On Friday and Tuesday nights they serve Hells straight from the barrel. The food was authentic and recommend everything- meatballs were perhaps the best dish but everyone got something different and all 5 were great (I tried some from everyone). Service was great, and they worked with our broken German and Ger-English. Ha.

Zum Grünen Baum is under new mangement since October 2016. The new owners have revamped the menu and have paired down the decor. I live in the neighborhood and stop by here once a week. Both the service and the food are realiably good. I feel very fortunate to have it nearby. The beer garden is a real gem on this side of the city.
