Sir Tom Baker is a really decent guy to know.
He is probably the best, if not the only best tailor in the Soho area. I purchased a pair of gun pistol cufflinks that are in silver and wood,
and they're made in Australia. Most of the cufflinks in this shop are exclusive for Sir Tom Baker. I have met the gentleman, myself during one Saturday afternoon
and we both a interesting chat. Sir Tom Baker seems to hire really nice, polite and hard-working staff.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Chris G.Londres, Reino Unido028/08/2010Primeiro a Avaliar
Tom Baker is simply the WORST tailor in London with one hell of an attitude problem!! Visited Tom in June 2010 to commission 2 new two pieces suits. All seemed to go well and Tom said that he would contact me in a few weeks time for a first fitting. The date of the fitting came round and Tom made some minor alterations to both of the suits - everything appearing to still all go well. Tom again said that he would contact me in a few weeks time when the suits would be finished. Eventually received a call from Tom to say the suits were finished and ready for my inspection. Visited his shop to try on and pay for the suits (please bear in mind this was only the 3rd time I had been to his shop - i.e. once to commission the suits and select the fabric, and the other time for a fitting). The suits were generally satisfactory apart from some further minor alternations that needed doing (i.e. the trousers were still too long). I explained to Tom that I was very happy with the suits and asked if he could adjust the trouser length slightly - this is when it all started to go wrong!!! Tom tuned to me and said that he was not going to adjust the trousers and that if I wanted them altered I would have to take them somewhere else to be done!!!! - surely the whole point of going to a bespoke tailor is so that you can have a suit made to your exacting requirements (something Tom has clearly forgotten!!). He then went into a further rage and shouted that he didn't need my business and that I was undermining him (all because I asked the for trouser length to be altered!!)
Conclusion
Tom is a complete twat who clearly has illusions of grandeur. So learn from my mistake - and do as Tom suggests - TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE!!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
