I came here on a Wednesday to a fairly empty restaurant - this all made sense when we later found out that Tuesdays is half price day! In spite of our disappointment at the fact that our food bill wasn't going to be cut in half, the staff - both the chef, the waiters/waitresses and management - more than made up for it with their friendly, accommodating, entertaining and efficient attitude.
We ordered sushi, black cod and beef and all the dishes were DELICIOUS. Our cocktails were also really well made so my taste buds were certainly not disappointed by the end of the night!
My only negative comment would be the portions, whilst they are wildly generous with the sides (rice, vegetables, soup), my portion of black cod was pitiful and when priced at around £35, I could've done with more of the good stuff and less of the sides.
Having said that, I would thoroughly recommend this place.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Joy L.Nova Iorque, Estados Unidos19822827523/05/2015
Sen Nin feels like the place you go to for Japanese if you don't know any better. There are two main reasons why me and my friends were quite disappointed when visiting last night.
First of all, the waiter tried pushing us in ordering more expensive dishes than we really needed. I understand if a waiter wants to advise you on certain items, but this guy just pushed beyond acceptable levels. It was extremely annoying, unprofessional and just plain embarrassing for the role of a respected waiter.
Secondly, the cheap entertainment that comes along when going to Sen Nin. We thought we were going to be treated by a professional cook who makes the food in front of you while staying a bit in the background. Instead, they put on a poor show of throwing eggs in the air (while most of the time failing and breaking them), omelet in your mouth (we did not participate) or just putting you on the spot in front of a group of strangers.
Sen Nin is not run by a single Japanese person and it shows. Because any respectable Japanese restaurant owner or cook would put emphasis on the quality of the food instead of luring in drunk birthday party crowds and trying to make as much money from them as possible.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Adele D.Londres, Reino Unido49110766/06/2015
This was my first teppanyaki experience which I did really enjoy. The chef was really good and kept us entertained. The food tasted good wasn't the best I ever had but good. I agree with another review the waiter was quite pushy with the more expensive option telling us the food wouldn't be enough but it was fine. I think it was over priced for what it was but would go again on a Tuesday when it is 50% off which they did promote. I had a good experience but wasn't my favourite night out

Yummy japanese restaurant worth trying, especially if you have the tastecard! I had the chicken katsu curry bento box for lunch here yesterday and it was great. A bento box split into foursies with good sized portions: rice, the chicken katsu curry, Japanese salad, and stir-fried noodles, along with a small scoop of pickled radishes in the center. And it comes with a miso soup as well. Definitely a filling lunch, normally priced at £9, but with the tastecard only £4.50! The service is good, my glass was never low on water and the food arrived promptly.
A few notes about using the tastecard at this place: you DO need to call to book in advance, but honestly more of a formality, this place isn't really packed with customers. And there's some fine print about ordering off the a la carte menu.. basically my friend and I each ordered a bento box, but apparently needed to also order at least one appetizer to get the 50% off tastecard deal? I just chucked in an order of salmon nigiri and it was fine.
Love that I work 5 minutes from here, I'll be back :)Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Gary S.Brighton, Reino Unido46110/04/2015
Sen Nin was a general let down. Average food, most of which is overpriced coupled with poor service makes for a forgetful experience. Sen Nin lacks authenticity and much of the cooking lacked inspiration.
Our Teppanyaki dishes were both nice enough but the prawns came with an odd, almost creamy sauce which masked any tasty prawn flavours and the plum sauce with the duck couldn't have tasted more shop-bought. The rice cooked on the grill was nice but nothing special and the vegetables only landed on our plates once we'd finished. Pointless.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Angela D.San Diego, Estados Unidos013826/03/2015
Not only was the food AMAZING, it was by far the most fun I have ever had in a restaurant. I have been to numerous teppanyaki restaurants in my life and this was definitely the best. They even let my husband go behind the table and try to flip and egg into a hat on his head. Our chef was such a delight and kept a smile on our face. I ordered the chicken and my husband Got steak. Both were famously cooked and seasoned. I will definitely be going back!!

Pretty good teppanyaki place in Camden. Food is fresh, service is good, and drinks are delicious. Good portions for the price and you can't beat 50% off Tuesdays!

Great food, but really slow service. Waited and waited while starved. But yea, if we're talking about the taste then it's excellent.

This restaurant offers amazing value for money on Tuesdays as everything is 50% off (whilst the offer is still on) including drinks! Whether that's cocktails, wine, champagne, beer. As most restaurants exclude drinks on such offers, you can imagine this deal is very popular. It gets incredibly busy on Tuesdays so make sure you book in advance. The food when you dine in is of a good standard and the Teppanyaki experience always entertains. Service is quick and attentive too. My only gripe is with the delivery take away service. The first time I ordered I honestly thought it was a mistake and the food was from a different restaurant, you just can't compare the food standards of the take away to the sit down experience. Worlds apart. The food is slopped together in the plastic containers and the food was bland and uninspiring. My expecations are reasonable as well, I don't expect a Teppanyaki chef to jump out of my takeaway bag and start flipping eggs on to his chef hat in my lounge! But a little more than it looking like a 5 year old has chucked it in to plastic containers/the bag with his hands would be nice :) I won't be ordering a take away again but will certainly visit in person, especially on Tuesdays!
