Sam's Of Brighton

Wild boar- Wild boar prosciutto, artichoke & radish salad with redcurrant dressing £6.95 this pasted from the menu was my choice and what achoice it was! Although, wild boar is pretty much pig for some reason you feel like you are tasting something different which you sort of are. What I like about Sam's is that the menu offers some really different foods that are not ott on price.

The restaurant inside is chilled and friendly which relaxes you as soon as you walk in. For pudding have the apple crumble with blueberry ice cream, fantastic and you can't get more English than that.

I am surprised that this place isn't opened at night and I am sure that this must be one idea of how they can survive the credit crunch.

A great little restaurant close to the breach in Brighton.


We went there on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't too busy. They had great special options, most revolving around sea food. The wine selection was also great.

It's a little pricey, but the food selection and amazing service make it worth it.

Sams of Brighton is a new unpretentious restaurant at the top end of Kemp Town that offers a wide and ever changing range of locally produced foods.

Sam continues to serve traditional English meals with a difference, incorporating different styles from around the world, such as their Braised shoulder of lamb with Spanish brown lentils, cream potatoes and salsa verde.

With a menu that changes daily and an affordable meal which actually fills your plate and your stomach, Sam's has succeeded in achieving a high standard experience without being pretentious or expensive.

The small and intimate setting also meant that there wasn't any of that chaos that is usually seen in restaurants around Brighton. And I was surprised that the waiters remembered many of their customer's names and were recommending what they thought would go down well, and was even more surprised when I was also told that Sam prepared my meal himself.

All-in-all, the friendly atmosphere from the staff, the other customers, and the quality and quantity of the food left me satisfied with my experience, with not such a big hole in my pocket as one would expect.

No the cheapest, but is a lovely place. The service is very good and the food is fantastic. The portions are generous and the food is beautifully presented.
The best place for a romantic dinner!

What a lovely little restaurant! We went here on a Tuesday night so it was pretty empty but right from the moment we were served some tasty hot bread I could tell I was in for a treat. I had the crab cakes to start which were delicious, and for mains I had beef which was just about one of the best dishes I've had in a while. The restaurant has a lovely ambience and would be perfect for a date. Highly recommended.

I'm surprised that there aren't more glowing reports on this restaurant. I've always found it to be good service, friendly, varied and tasty menu. Ok, it's a tad expensive maybe but I've never left feeling I don't want to go back. They have daily specials and are very seasonal in what they offer on the menu. Have sometimes found their fish dishes to be a little rich (a recent fish with shrimps one springs to mind) but I'm quite intolerant of cream and butter sauces. Otherwise, a really lovely local place to goshame there aren't more of this quality.
