Great view, peaceful and quiet. Make sure you take a jacket and watch out for the birds, they swoop down to steal food. Also watch the birds in the evening, they put up a migration display

This is my least favourite pier on the south coast of the country. Not many businesses operating on the pier and they shut up shop early. Not much to do on this pier, it has no life. The tea room is mediocre.

Eastbourne Pier is one of the more elaborate historical piers on the English Channel coast and offers the usual amenities: a pub near the end of the pier, plus food stalls and souvenir booths - and, of course, the obligatory fish & chips diner ("The Chippy") at the entrance. It isn't quite as fancy or colorful as Brighton Pier, which may be a good thing. It's also not as crowded. Definitely the Number One place to vistit if you're ever in Eastbourne. It's also been well maintained. The pub at the end of the pier ("The Ocean Kitchen") offers the usual choice of lagers and a few keg beers at slightly - but not outrageously - elevated prices, plus a nice outside seating area. Smoking/vaping is only allowed in certain designated areas on the pier - not that anyone really cares. Suffice to say, entrance to the pier itself is free.

Now that it has burnt down, it's a bit barren but it has a nice restaurant at the end. Nice to walk on when it is windy. I wouldn't recommend it as a tourist attraction, but it is really quite nice to walk along in all weathers. I have heard good reviews about the Atlantis (nightclub) on the end.

Pleasant stroll down the pier, even though it was Oct time. I thought there would be a lot more quirky shops on it & open in off-peak season

One of Eastbournes finest landmarks, but, I believe, is not used to the best of its ability. Long gone is the 007 or whatever it was called speedboat ride. Very drab and yicky in the wet windy weather but not so bad in summertime. Often full of students, or the elderly during the day, or yobs visiting a cheesy nightclub at night. Tombstoning was quite fashionable, although highly dangerous from here, and there is a security presence at times to stop this. I believe Eastbourne could make more of this, go one step ahead of Brighton Pier ( and i dont mean the remains of the West Pier!)

Worth a visit for the arcades which is probably the main pier attraction - plenty of machine variety! Daytime visits preferable to evening as it does attract drunk locals. Do not bother with the fish and chips kiosk - I have been a few times and each time the food is as bad as the last! Few seasonal shops selling the usual tat, though recent efforts to add games e.g donkey derby similar to Brighton pier have improved the mid section. Best time obviously a sunny day, in season but then mind the crowds!

the view is great from the pier,a nice place to go for a walk if you do not mind the crowd.even on a rainy day it can make a great outing.that if you venture during the day.when night comes is another story.the club from the pier invites tourists and locals, most of them drunk and dangerous.
I even witnesed a couple of fights between them and the security of the pier.disturbing if you are looking for a nice evening walk with your partner.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
