Natraj is a very traditional Indian restuarant on the lower end of Gloucester Road. The resturant is a little dated, but it really does look as if you have been transported to a village in India so this could both be a good and/or a bad thing!
The food is very good, as is the service. They treat you like royalty here which I like! Service was a little slow, but nothing really to complain about. It's not the best resturant you'll ever go to, but maybe worth a trip if you like very traditional Indian cooking.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Utilizador Qype (hughth…)Bristol, Reino Unido46727/05/2012
I'm not really supposed to eat stuff like this as we crossfit athletes (ahem) are meant to follow the paleo diet. That means no rice, no popadoms, no naan bread, and for all I know no curry either. If I'm on a cheat day though (and let's face it I often am) and deserve a special treat then this is high on my list of targets on the takeaway nirvana that is Gloucester Rd. The Natraj is certainly a well established restaurant as I'm pretty sure it was here when I moved to Bristol in the early 80s. Curries are not quite as popular as they were back then from what I can see, but the Natraj keeps on keeping on with its range of traditional Indian dishes. My current favourite is the butter chicken with boiled rice, with a naan and some cucumber raita unadventurous I know but delicious. Plus it's licensed, so you can enjoy a quick pint of Kingfisher and a scan of the Sun while you're waiting. The atmos is authentic old-school Indian restaurant, and the staff are helpful and friendly. Spot on!
