972121913814/10/2016We stopped in here on 2 separate occasions for drinks. Great patio seating and view of the main square if you want to be in on the action. Cheap drinks for happy hour. It reminded me a little of what I might also find in American bars, with the assorted, eclectic posters, cutouts, and memorabilia on the walls. We had fun here and it was one of the few nightlife spots we found in the immediate area.

A task almost impossible, especially on weekends. But then some locals recommended the Max Bar, and it was perfect.
It is located right at the market square, but once you enter you seem to be in another world. The walls are covered with stickers, posters and cut-out headlines. The music was from unknown origin, and I even didn't recognize some of the beers offered.
The waitresses seemed to be busy with themselves, but it was ok. You don't go here to simply satisfy your thirst, you come to leave everything behind. Letzteres ist zwar gerade am Wochenende fast eine Unmöglichkeit, dennoch hätte es nicht besser kommen können.
Die Max Bar liegt mitten am Marktplatz, aber wenn man eintritt scheint man in einer anderen Welt zu sein. Die Wände sind bepflastert mit Ausschnitten und Aufklebern, die Musik klingt angenehm fremd und die Karte offenbarte Biere von denen ich noch nie zuvor gehört habe.
Nur die Bedienungen schienen mehr mit sich selbst als mit dem Klientel beschäftigt zu sein, aber hierher kommt man auch nicht, um seinen Durst zu stillen, sondern um abzuschalten und die ganze Welt hinter sich zu lassen. Probably the best bar in the Altstadt. No, it doesn't have fancy long drinks. Yes, the waiters can be on guard - why not try being assertive? Go in there if you want to drink good beer and rant and rave for an hour or three. The environment in the Max Bar is like something out of a movie, it just doesn't get better than this.

The service is very rude, the waitress comes to you and stares at you without saying a word. The guy at the bar is also extremely rude, doesn't want to serve you and make you uncomfortable. We came once, not twice.
