We stayed in Reims for 3 days! Not even kidding we ate this place everyday!
The food was really good. We had the onion soup and with the caramelized onions, the bread the cheese and extra bread to dip! It was a meal in its self!
We also go the escargot 2 of the 3 days we were there. And let me tell you the extra bread to soak up the parsley butter was the key!
We also got a bottle of local champagne each time
And each one was so amazing and delicious!
The service was amazing!!!!! The wind knocked over my glass about 5 minutes after they opened the bottle and poured it. They opened a whole new bottle filled my new glass and topped off my friends glass free of charge!
We sat outside each time to watch the adorable town center and see the people walking by!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 8/06/2022
This cafe is fantastic for what it is. If you're looking for something simple and relaxed, you've found it here. The pizza is great, as is the beef carpaccio and foie gras. Our friends got the mussels and wow were they good. Inexpensive and satisfying. Thumbs up. Oh, and the servers are nice, too.

I was craving a bowl of hot soup in Reims, and bizarrely, the first 10-15 restaurants I passed by did not have soup on the menu. I chose Le Grand Cafe solely based on the onion soup on their menu. The soup was fine, certainly not great, and they had the bread and cheese on the side rather than bruleed on top.
My dining companion had a really chewy, overcooked piece of duck.
But in this square of touristy restaurants, I'm not sure we could have done much better, and we definitely couldn't have found soup anywhere else. Service was shockingly good.
I'd go back again only if for some reason I was forced to eat in this square again. Otherwise, I'd probably drive out to a less touristy area.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Rosangela B.Livermore, Estados Unidos796804/04/2018
My husband and I had lunch at Le Grande Cafe', after a round of Champagne tasting. We had the Mussels with French Fries also we had French onion soup.
They serve a very generous portion, the service was excellent, the food was very delicious and the price was really fair.
I'd love to go backHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Yvonne F.Arvada, Estados Unidos3201017/04/2017
What an enjoyable evening! The mussels were very good and we loved the variety of options. The recommended wine was outstanding as well. Service was outstanding even with a slight language barrier. Both the waiter and manager used what minimum English they knew to make sure we had an awesome and very fun dinner. They were so helpful and fun. Highly recommend for the mussels, didn't try anything else.

My husband and I arrived in Reims on an evening train and were referred to this restaurant by our hotel as one still open, and still remember our meal 3 weeks later. The restaurant was welcoming, had a good menu, was reasonably priced, had great service (including giving us a waiter that spoke good English that was a nice touch) and provided very good food, including a large portion of excellent mussels and frites, duck confit and a nice selection of champagnes.

It's Sunday night so you are cross-checking TripAdvisor and Yelp to find an intersection of a medium-priced place that is decent. You might end up here, which I would advise against - not if you like mussels, because they will deliver - but if you like politesse and not like you're in a French version of a TGI Friday's.

One of the best meals we had in france. My husband had veal livers in a cream sauce which was to die for. I had moules in lobster bisque which is about the best and most decadent dish you could ask for. The service is by far the best we have had in france with two gentlemen that were absolutely fantastic. A great place in this quaint little town.
