Great spot to see live jazz.
Unique and always emerging acts.
We love it here and always come back when we visit Paris.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - RosalindaQueen C.Chesapeake, Estados Unidos4427628/08/2019
The live music was great. The service was great. The drinks were good the only thing I can say I wasn't happy about was the extra charge for the live music that no one mentioned.
Adrian from Spain was a great bartender he spoke great English Spanish and French!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 3/10/2014
French Nat King Cole! He did all the talking and introductions in French, but that man sung beautifully in English!
Here's a lovely 47 seconds of my lovely Paris night:

Shows usually cost €10-20+, but we happen to come across on a free Sunday Jazz Jam Session(I'm not sure if its every Sunday or not, check the website). 9:00pm was official start time, mostly empty room at 8:45pm, and the band did not actually start until 9:30pm, but by then the place was packed, so get there before 9:00 for a decent seat. Mixed age group, some seniors and some young 20s whom know what good music is.
No cover charge, but as with all French "clubs" drinks are expensive! My 2nd most expensive beer of my life:€9.80/$12.75. My friends got champagne cocktails for €12, which were good, but small! Maybe 5-6oz... so my beer made sense.
Enjoy!Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Scarlet L.Levallois-Perret, França44011/01/2018
First let me point out that the quality of musicians playing here is superb. However the service is horrendously unfriendly. Also, this is claimed to be a top jazz club? Wake up Paris!! This is a dive! In drastic need of refurbishment in the main concert room. The sound is seriously lacking. This place needs a business plan revamp. Keep the artists, sack the management. And teach the staff some etiquette.

I loved this place!
Check their online calendar so you're not surprised by which show you're seeing.
We saw the Robin Mansanti Trio, who did a Chet Baker tribute.
Amazing.
Sure the place is small but we weren't packed in...
It wasn't hot, the air was working fine...
Drinks were good - sure, maybe a bit expensive... but just have one!
I loved it here! Definitely one of those cliché "upstairs" jazz clubs you have to check out while you're in Paris!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Maris D.Miami, Estados Unidos179254394/06/2012
After work was all done, I head over to Chatelet and stumbled upon quite a jem, Le Baiser Sale. An awesome little Jazz bar. We missed the jam session but they kept the place going with awesome recorded picks. The drinks were nothing to be ashamed of either.

We went on a Monday night for a jam session and had an amazing time! Get there early, the little room upstairs is packed but it was okay for just the two of us. The entrance for the jam session was free but you were required to order at least one drink and there is a 7€ upcharge on your first drink so not quite free entrance, just a heads up. Definitely a fun night in old Paris!

Stopped in randomly last night after dinner. There are 3 jazz bars in the area, on the same street, but this one has the latest show (22:00). They have 3 hours of music. We were not able to get into the other Jazz bars and ended up very happy with this last minute choice. It is a small space above the bar, a bit stuffy and hot, but the music was great! The band was french speaking and unique. The singer and trumpet player actually took out a few conch shells and played a whole song with them. The drinks were inexpensive and entry was $20 Euros each. Overall, I am happy for the more authentic, local experience. If you want to see an internationally imported jazz musician, probably go to Le Sunset/Le Sunside - 60 Rue des Lombards, or Au Duc des Lombards - 42 Rue des Lombards (most upscale and you must make reservations in advance and go to the earlier shows). We figured that because we are from NYC, we can see the type of artists in the harder to get into places in NYC, but the local artists were more of a unique experience for us.

Went to a jazz jam session on a Wednesday night. What an amazing time!!! One of the highlights of our trip to Paris. Melt in the Motherland performed their French spoken word and poetry. It was just magical. Small crowd, maybe 25 people which is perfect for the small area upstairs. We rocked out from 1030 to maybe 130a. Met some amazing French people. I would come here again during my next trip to Paris. Enjoyed hearing the French take on neo-soul, spoken word, jazz, and poetry. Also enjoyed listening to audience members show off their musical skills. Melt spoke in French and English, which was a pleasant surprise because I was expecting only French.
