La Charlotte de l'Isle

Lovely spot on Isle St. Louis I sought out specifically to try the Chocolat Chaud. I wasn't motivated to have any of the cakes or such as nothing appealed to me and it was a short selection. No fault of theirs just my choice. They also have a wonderful selection of teas. The Chocolat Chaud is thick, dark and rich. It is not overly sweet and more on the bittersweet side but for me was sweet enough and very nice, a bit different. Thoroughly chocolat!!!

This tea and chocolate shop.made our visit amazing. I had the affagato, and they serve it both with hot chocolate or coffee. My wife had hot chocolate. It is luscious and amazing. Not a place to go if you are looking after your waist.

I have visited La Charlotte de L'Isle three times and been three times satisfied. It is true that it is pricey, but given it location this is not surprising. They have a large selection tea, coffee beverages, juice in the summer, and tasty looking cakes. If you don't want to wait in line for the wonderful ice cream at Berthillon just down the street, you can get an espresso affogato here, or their variation with hot chocolate. The hot chocolate is, in my opinion, quite as good as Angelina's, and personally I prefer the calmer ambiance of La Charlotte de L'Isle.

We planned a chocolate tour around Paris, tried several places and this was the winner. Ridiculously rich chocolate, so much so it goes to your brain.

Excellent service, excellent hot chocolate (best in paris IMO). Only bad thing is the menu is sort of unreadable and the place is small

Very family unfriendly; when they saw we had a small stroller they turned us away rudely, even though the place was fairly empty.
