The hotel is very conveniently located steps away form the entrance of terminal 2 (the terminal with access to most international flights out of Munich). We had a one night layover here because our flight from Catania was coming in too late in the afternoon to make the US connection from Munich.
The hotel is very stylish and modern with all the modern amenities one can think of. The front desk was very helpful in providing directions to Munich downtown via subway including an excellent place for dinner. The breakfast buffer was outstanding with a large assortment of meats, eggs, cheeses, breads, pastries, etc. Also surprising were the excellent quality of the meats, which was unusual give the large variety and buffet type of environment. I would say this hotel is pretty upscale and an excellent choice for a layover in Germany. It does what it's meant to do and more.
My only gripe, if one can call it that, was that we had to purchase two rooms because none of the rooms accommodated 4 (two adults and two children), but other than that minor inconvenience, I highly recommend it.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 127622891254424/02/2014
Excellent hotel. The location is five-star alone. The room was clean, comfortable, had everything that I needed. Even the hairdryer was excellent. The best hairdryer of my two weeks in Germany.
The only bad part about this hotel, was no free Wi-Fi. Minus one star for that. I was very disappointed with that. Otherwise, I really cannot fault it.
You literally walk 3 minutes onto the courtyard that is in between terminals one and two. In the terminals you can find many shops and restaurants that are open until 9 o'clock or later.
My flight was at 7 AM, so I had the front desk give me a wake up call at 4:30. I got not just one but a follow-up wake up call to make sure I was up. How awesome is that?
If you check online like Expedia or those bargain websites, you can find cheaper rates then the rack rates. Even if you have to pay full price, it's worth it if you have a very early flight. Location, location, location!
In the basement there's supposedly a spa and fitness center. We did not check it out but it seems to close also around 9:30 PM.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tim A. A.Berlim, Alemanha5216641318/10/2012
"Practical" location, 5star service and good food. The gym facilities are also sufficient - and it's surprisingly quiet considering its in-airport location.
Only thing to complain might be that there is no "cosy" hotel bar feeling and the architecture and room fitting is rather boring...Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Veronica P.Chino Hills, Estados Unidos53441817737/04/2014
The Kempinski Hotel Munich Airport is conveniently located within the airport between terminals 1 and 2.
Although I'm generally not a fan of airport hotels with a 6:00 AM departing flight, this seemed to be the best option. I booked the room through PointsHound and picked up an extra 600 miles which is always a welcome bonus.
Once you make your way to the hotel, you will need to take the elevator up to get into the hotel.
The lobby has an open atrium with the restaurant near the front desk. The walls of the hotel are all glass to allow great views of the airport.
After exiting the elevator, the front desk is to the right. Check-in was quick and efficient.
Upon entering the room, the bathroom is to the left. The bathroom is fairly spacious with a shower/tub combo and Kempinski branded bath amenities.
To the right of the entrance is a small area where you can store your luggage or bags.
The bed is very comfortable and comes complete with plush linens.
There is a small desk which is functional.
There is also a sitting area with two chairs.
Wi-fi is achingly slow to the point where it was nearly impossible just to check your email. After explaining this to the front desk upon check-out the amount I did pay for wi-fi was refunded.
This is a great option if arriving very late or departing very early as it takes at least 25 minutes to get into the city from the airport.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Alex H.Irvine, Estados Unidos402364619/07/2011

From the arrival hall of Munich airport you reach the hotel after a short indoor walk (excluding the last minutes).
A large percentage of the hotel is constructed out of glass inclusive of the elevator and the large, let me call it a conservatory, where you can enjoy a cup of coffee or other beverages plus snacks and have the feeling that you are sitting somewhere in the tropics.
One completely forgets to be at an airport since no sound from outside can be heard.
Very good, comfortable and clean rooms and service minded hotel staff.
Tip: walk back to the arrival hall.
Half way you will find a pub on your right hand site which amongst others serves self brewed beer of a fantastic quality!
They also serve food at reasonable prices.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Bailey B.San Antonio, Estados Unidos24188285/06/2013
Fantastic. The restaurant should consider seeking a Michelin star. The moussed vegetables alongside my steak were fantastic, clever, light, and bursting with flavor. I think they vita-mixed about a half gallon of fresh veggies just for me.
The hotel itself is an architectural gem. It expresses exactly the current thinking in European style and does it with elegance, grace, and comfort. Really nice people, a fabulous room, and (perhaps most important) pet friendly.
They even had little pet dishes set out. Cute!
We had a hectic couple of weeks. We were tired. Our cats were tired. We spilled into the room looked and sniffed and padded around and said, "finally, we can relax."
Oh, and it's 200 meters from the airport check-in. Our bell-hop cheerfully delivered our bags to the airport desk!
Sometimes you are traveling, things are up in the air, everyone is stressed, and you need an oasis of calm for the whole family (with or without fur). This is it.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Superfly T.Medford, Estados Unidos8277616/05/2011
If you've got a morning flight out of Munich (MUC), do yourself a favor the night before and take a little stress relief by checking into this ultra-clean, superbly comfortable, and most excellently staffed luxury hotel right next to the terminal. The Charles Lindbergh restaurant is very good, and the lobby bar is also great and open late. Prices are not bad for a 4-5 star hotel.

this place is striking and very convenient, but it is in desperate need of a refresh with carpet, TV, fixtures, etc. we had an awful time connecting to the outrageously over-priced (limited to two devices only) wifi internet connection, and the front desk was poorly equipped in dealing with the issue. despite our problems in connecting more than one device (my iPhone sent $30 in texts instead of iMessages because we couldn't connect), the front desk offered us 50% off the charges for the day.
I'd give this place a pass and stay in Munich since it's just a 40 minute train ride.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - T J.New Brunswick, Estados Unidos0811/05/2014
If you are wanting to have a meeting at this hotel, NEVER do it. They are evil. I spent close to 40,000 euro on a week of meetings there. The food was slightly better than what they serve in prisons. They charged an insane amount for internet that was basically 2G. And housekeeping stole a souvenir glass from my room -- and the hotel said they found a glass but never gave it to me. But reimburse me if I showed a receipt (which I had already thrown away as I never expected housekeeping to steal the glass). I understand now what life was like in a Nazi concentration camp.
