It was our last night in Berlin, a Tuesday night. We had already been wandering around another part of the city when we decided to check out House of Weekend. It was close to midnight and the place was still pretty empty. The club didn't get packed until around 2am.
Overall a pretty good clubbing experience. There was no wait, no douche bouncers, but we did have to pay 10 euros to get in. The crowd was a mix of tourist and young partying locals.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tim P.Columbia, Estados Unidos0213/07/2019
This is ridiculous how I gotta pay $180 just to have a seat. They have this female going around telling us if we not buying a drink, then we have to stand up. Never going again

A clear-cut case of a cool spot past its prime, Weekend is still worth a visit for its summer terrace, which is a great place to chill with a drink and gives you a view of the city that is hard to beat. The vibes are not quite as cozy at the top of the Fernsehturm, for example, and.I can't think of any other tall buildings in Berlin.
As far as the party goes, better to look elsewhere, this place has been around for years and listed in so many backpacking guides that its hard to find a person speaking German in the place. Expect to bob your head to daft punk with tweaked out techno tourists.
Still dig the office building mystique though.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Joshua M.Brooklyn, Estados Unidos11920/08/2010
Weekend has a reputation of being a great club, but I feel that the reputation is mostly hype. Besides the rooftop terrace (will go into this later) the club is tiny. Drinks and entry fee are very expensive for Berlin and the whole experience feels lack luster for the amount of hype and money revolving around the place.
The roof top terrace, which is only open when the weather permits, is amazing. The atmosphere up there is more lounge-like and it succeeds. Instead of being a club that is too small and too cramp, you have a nice spacious terrace where people can sit and talk with a DJ playing right next to the bar.
I will admit that the club has an amazing view of Alexanderplatz and that the club attracts many top DJs. The only thing is, if I had to chose between seeing a big DJ at Weekend or any other big club in Berlin, i would chose the latter. Weekend is too small, too expensive and the crowd there is just there because of the hype.
All in all, I would only come here if I was a big fan of the DJ and if the rooftop terrace was open.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jamie B.São Francisco, Estados Unidos044228/07/2016
My husband and I came for drinks at the rooftop bar around sunset on a Friday night. We had a great time, sipping cocktails, getting loose to the very random hip hop and pop songs the DJ was playing. He played Whoomp There It Is, and I don't think it was ironic...but I was kind of drunk and it was fun. Yes, there are roped off sections for "VIPs" who probably paid waaay too much for bottle service and a private booth, but it's still a gorgeous view and I had a great time. We did pay 10 Euros just to get in, but that would have allowed us to come and go all night long if we wanted to party at the club later. I'm on vacation and I don't really care about paying 10 Euros extra, but I can see how that could be annoying if you're a local.

First night out in Berlin with a group of friends, we ended up here at House of weekend. Being a very big group, 15 people, it was not a problem to get in all together. Nice rooftop and average drinks. Quite an international crowd, but music quite repetitive.

Despite the 10-15 Euro cover, I was lucky to be with two girls that I met in my hostel. Some other guys we met had a hard time getting in. It's right around the corner from Hostel One80 (which was one of the best hostels I stayed in Europe) and even closer to Alexanderplatz Station.
It's a cool experience going up multiple stories to go dancing. Upstairs, you're surrounded by windows with views of Berlin. Around the windows are seating to take a break from dancing.
Unfortunately, there ventilation is pretty bad. It gets too hot and steamy, and it's not helped the plethora of people smoking inside. I would suggest all the clubs in Kreuzberg, but if you're staying near Alexanderplatz, this is good for a club night.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Utilizador Qype (jimnka…)Berlim, Alemanha529614/11/2008
Have been here a few times and although the music is OK (minimal/house/techno, check the line-up when you go) it's a bit touristy, and a bit too 'dressy' for my taste.
Worth going once to see the fantastic view from the roof terrace (the club is on two upper floors of an office block + roof terrace) which has its own bar and music piped up from the club below.
Nothing against tourists, but head east for Berghain or Watergate to experience Berlin nightlife.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Utilizador Qype (superc…)Chicago, Estados Unidos912375231/01/2010
I have been to Weekend a couple of times over the years and each time it was a quality evening -- great music and a crowd that likes to get down. The most impressive thing about the club is the view of the city, was here for New Year's one year and could definitely recommend that if you get a chance.
Music style seems to lean towards Techno old-faithful, but went to see Roland Dorfmeister there and he was throwing in a lot of really great techy-glitchy tracks that got the floor going. Drink prices are decent for a club that is so popular and the barstaff are quick on their toes.
Watch for some sleazy tourists while you are there, however, they can be a little aggressive. But, usually so drunk you can just wander away and they'll continue talking to the wall.
By the way, anyone find a Blackberry this past Friday?!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tanya D.Seattle, Estados Unidos19032225511/08/2011
Been here twice - the first night was questionable, the second was truly fun - great vibes, chill atmosphere and RAD music. However, while the weather was nice, the rooftop terrace was not open either night, and I feel that it is an integral part of the weekend experience: why go to a club on a rooftop in Alexanderplatz if you can't experience the view as well. Although I do appreciate how different the 12th and 15th floors are set up. Bartenders were chill, and some people may complain about the price of drinks, but nothing gets in the way of my lovely Berlin good time.
