Hidori

Pretty authentic Japanese restaurant with native Japanese people. Love the price value and fish quality! The rice was a bit grainy and the soy sauce were mixed with water. Overall though, great place to check out.

The food takes time to make so waited quite some time. Sushi wise we've had better sushi at other authentic places in Vienna but price-value wise this is one of the top!

The sushi and the rest of the menu were great! Servers are nice, and most importantly, authentic Japanese. Here is one minor thing: very, very slow service. Not rude or bad, just slow. But, I heard that this is typical Japanese thing as they take their time serving.
Nevertheless, I would definetely return as the food and the atmosphere are really great.
Not expensive at all. Just worth the price for a good, authentic, real Japanese meal.

Even though Hidori is a bit pricey, it is WORTH your money! I enjoyed every minute of my stay. Waiters were very nice, making sure I've got everything I need and they had such a genuine welcoming attitude.
I chose the vegetarian menu for 18 euros, it consisted of 4 different parts - misosuppe, salad, fried tofu and 6 pieces of avocado maki. All of these dishes had a perfect quality, not like in cheaper japanese restaurants where it is not clear whether some components have been deep-frozen before. I also picked a lemon hai, which was basically lemon soda with destilled spirit. It was refreshing but perhaps next time I will pick something more interesting :)
Afterwards I tried vanilla ice-cream with ginger-honey sauce... and yes, it is as amazing as it sounds!!!
What I also enjoyed was that even though Hidori lacks the usual Asian glitter/laughing Buddha/kitsch, they have still managed to create a very pleasant atmosphere.

Hidori has absolutely amazing, delicious Japanese cuisine. My significant other, who lived in Japan for a year, is kind of obsessed with this place.

However! The service is UNBELIEVABLY slow. Y'all. I think we waited for 45-60 minutes for our first dish the last time we went. Seriously.

The food IS worth the wait, though - just know ahead of time what you're getting yourself into, and don't arrive starving or you'll be in a really shitty mood while you wait a thousand years for your appetizer to arrive! Although.. if you sit at the bar, the service might be a *teence* faster, or you can do what I've vowed to do henceforth: take out.

I recommend the yakitori (little bits of skewered chicken), and their Japanese pickles are REALLY good!

Excellent izakaya style food, beautifully presented. Grilled eggplant with red miso was super, so was sunomono with squid & octopus slices. Chirashi sushi my wife ordered was also superb. Grilled gizzards and the skewer of fried chicken neck skin were very, very good ... but not quite as perfect. Service was friendly, but then the waitress and my wife had an instant connection, both being from Kobe. They did forget my rice balls, but were very apologetic. Nice ambience; your choice whether to sit on the floor on a tatami or at a regular table with chairs

Order the chef's menu and prepare for bliss. If you understand Japanese cuisine and sushi, you will be in a catatonic wonderland at Hidori. It's the best restaurant I've ever been to in terms of quality.

Good service, good food, the way I like it. Will be back for another go very soon.

excellent Japanese restaurant, but the only reason I'm giving it four stars is because they refused to serve me a small hot saki, they told me I have to buy the bottle and it was too much for me. I always drink hot saki with good sushi :(
