md! (french for omg) that really was spectacular. more than 500 actors come together for an epic reenactment of french history in front of a the gorgeous saint fargeau chateau in treigny, set against an offshoot of the loire river lined with lush greenery and ancient trees. the lighting alone is mind-blowing, but the sheer vastness of it all is what really puts it over the top. this is truly a fun-for-all-ages event, and it works whether or not you speak french (or have terrible, shitty, fake french like i do).

also, i totally belted out the battle hymn of the republic when the american jeeps rolled up and they related the WWII tale of storming the beaches in normandy. U! S! A! U! S! A! U! S! A!
