In the west work is over the low curved centralresounds as crypt is designated, the dubble flloor Johannischor with the Kaiserloge. The view from the Johannischor into the church is now blocked by the organ loft. After the 2nd world war with restoration work on the walls of the Johannischors remainders were discovered by walpaints from the 9th century (among other things a Odysseus representation). This old church has a completely special Atmospäre (see pictures).

Oh no 017/10/2008Avaliação anteriorVon der alten Kirche in Corvey blieb nur das Westwerk erhalten, das damit das älteste frühmittelalterliche Baudenkmal Westfalens ist. Im Westwerk befindet sich über der niedrig gewölbten Mittelhalle die als Krypta bezeichnet wird, der zweigeschossige Johannischor mit der Kaiserloge. Der Blick aus dem Johannischor in die Kirche ist jetzt durch die Orgelempore verbaut. Nach dem 2. Weltkrieg sind bei Restaurierungsarbeiten an den Wänden des Johannischors Reste von Wandmalereien aus dem 9. Jahrhundert entdeckt worden (u.a. eine Odysseus-Darstellung). Diese alte Kirche hat eine ganz besondere Atmospäre (siehe Bilder).
